David B. Wyshner is senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of Avis Budget Group. In this role, he is responsible for all company financial activities, including financial reporting, tax and treasury functions, planning and analysis, investor relations, capital structure strategy, financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, commercial and investment banking relationships and insurance and risk management. In addition, Mr. Wyshner oversees the Company’s information technology, properties and corporate communications functions.
Mr. Wyshner has served as Avis Budget Group’s chief financial officer since 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Wyshner was executive vice president and treasurer of Cendant Corporation, parent company of Avis Budget Group, which was created when Cendant separated into four separate independent companies in 2006. At Cendant, Mr. Wyshner was responsible for the Company’s treasury and purchasing functions. Mr. Wyshner joined Cendant in 1999 and, before being appointed treasurer, served as Cendant’s executive vice president for finance, planning and development. In this role, he had enterprise-wide responsibility for budgeting, capital planning, analysis of business plans, and integration planning for potential acquisitions and other strategic transactions. Prior to joining Cendant, Mr. Wyshner worked for eight years in Merrill Lynch & Co.’s investment banking division, specializing in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Wyshner received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Yale University and his master’s degree in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar.
Joe Ferraro is president, Americas, for Avis Budget Group. In this role, he is responsible for the Company's Avis, Budget, Payless and Zipcar brands in North and South America, including Latin America and the Caribbean.
Mr. Ferraro was previously senior vice president of operations, North America, where he oversaw all Avis and Budget car and truck rental operations in the United States and Canada, including airport and local market locations. He has more than 30 years of experience with Avis Budget Group, holding various positions of increasing responsibility.
Mr. Ferraro holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University. He is based in Parsippany, N.J.
Larry De Shon assumed the title of president, International for Avis Budget Group on January 1, 2015. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Avis, Budget, Zipcar, Payless, Maggiore and Apex businesses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. De Shon was previously president of Avis Budget's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operating region, and prior to that, he served as executive vice president of Avis Budget domestic (U.S.) operations.
Before joining Avis Budget Group, Mr. De Shon was senior vice president of airport operations at United Airlines, Inc. As the head of United's worldwide airport operations, he oversaw ground operations, logistics, safety, security, customer processing and service, product development and internal communications, leading an organization of 23,000 employees in 29 countries. He began his 28-year career with the airline carrier as a customer service representative and advanced to hold numerous positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure.
Mr. De Shon is based in Avis Budget's European headquarters in Bracknell, United Kingdom. He received bachelor degrees in both communications and sociology from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Scott Deaver is executive vice president of strategy for Avis Budget Group. Mr. Deaver drives the strategic planning process for Avis Budget Group in addition to overseeing initiatives that create operational efficiency and revenue growth.
Prior to assuming leadership of the company's strategy, Mr. Deaver served as executive vice president of Marketing, leading the development of both the Avis and Budget marketing strategies designed to build brand image, customer loyalty and market share.
Mr. Deaver has over 20 years of marketing experience, the past ten spent on various assignments of increasing responsibility within Avis Budget and its predecessor companies Cendant Corporation and HFS Incorporated. Most recently, he was Chief Marketing Officer for move.com, an online real estate and home services portal launched by Cendant. Before leading move.com marketing, Mr. Deaver was senior vice president of corporate marketing at Cendant, working with the company's entire portfolio of travel, real estate and direct marketing brands. He has also worked as a marketing executive for several major hotels brands, including Ramada, Howard Johnson and Holiday Inns.
Mr. Deaver earned a Ph.D and Master of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the South.
Michael K. Tucker is executive vice president and general counsel for Avis Budget Group. In his position Mr. Tucker is responsible for the legal affairs of the Company, including management of its franchising and other contracts, litigation, government relations and information security.
Prior to joining Avis Budget Group, Mr. Tucker was in private practice serving as managing partner at the law firm of Tucker Associates, and of counsel to the law firm of Lowe & Savage, where he represented private and public entities, handling corporate, securities, finance and commercial transaction matters. His long tenure as a corporate attorney includes service as division general counsel with Tyco International, Ltd. Mr. Tucker also served in senior legal positions with General Electric Company, including division senior counsel of GE Transportation and senior vice president and general counsel of GE Capital International Services. Before working as a corporate attorney, Mr. Tucker was a member of the law firms of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, Bingham Dana LLP, and Csaplar & Bok.
Mr. Tucker received his Juris Doctorate degree from Boston University and a bachelor's degree from Cornell University.
Gerard Insall was named executive vice president and chief information officer in January 2015. In this role, he is responsible for the management of all facets of Information Technology (IT) for Avis Budget Group and its brand operations. These include: enterprise applications, IT operations, networks, architecture and IT strategy.
Mr. Insall was previously senior vice president and chief information officer, and prior to that, he served as vice president of IT operations where he led the segregation of IT systems when Cendant Corporation separated its division into stand-alone companies and created Avis Budget Group, Inc.
Mr. Insall has held various management positions working with Cendant Corporation, Avis Rent A Car, WizCom International LTD and Resorts Condominium International. His positions have been in the areas of application development, business systems management, project management, relationship management, and IT operations.
Mr. Insall has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Saint John’s University in New York.
Ned Linnen was appointed executive vice president and chief human resources officer (CHRO) in January 2015. In this role, he oversees Avis Budget Group's global human resources activities including organizational development, labor and employee relations, talent acquisition and diversity strategies, total rewards strategies, equal employment compliance, health and safety, and employee engagement initiatives.
Mr. Linnen was previously senior vice president and CHRO. He joined Avis Budget Group in 2001, and since then has held positions of increased responsibility, including senior vice president of human resources for North America, vice president of labor relations, vice president international human resources, vice president domestic human resources, and field human resources director.
Prior to joining Avis Budget Group, Mr. Linnen served in various positions within human resources at Kraft Foods Inc. and Nabisco, Inc.
Mr. Linnen has a Master of Science degree in organizational development from Misericordia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in human resources and psychology from King’s College.
