OTTAWA, May 6, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Zipcar, the world's leading car sharing network, today announced that its global "wheels when you want them" membership service is now available to Ottawa residents, businesses, visitors and students. A total of 23 Zipcars are now parked in easily accessible locations in the Ottawa area and are available for reservation by the hour or by the day as an affordable, convenient and sustainable transportation option.  Further expansion with additional vehicles is planned for the coming months.

A variety of Zipcars are now located throughout Ottawa in popular areas such as Centretown, Lowertown and the Glebe.  The vehicles are parked in designated spots for convenient pick-up and drop-off and can be reserved in seconds on Zipcar's mobile app, online or over the phone.

The Zipcar Ottawa fleet features a variety of makes and models, including Mini Cooper "Sinatra," great for a weekend getaway, Volkswagen Golf "Bento" to zip around town or Audi A4 "Babushka" for a business meeting or fancy night out. Each reservation includes gas, insurance and 200km of driving per day, making it a great option for those looking for ways to save money on the high cost of car ownership.
