At the 21st World Travel Awards during the Africa & Indian Ocean Gala held in Nigeria, travel and tourism professionals recognized Avis in several categories:

The World Travel Awards celebrate those companies and brands that are pushing the boundaries of industry excellence in products and services. They were launched in 1993 to acknowledge and recognize excellence in the global travel and tourism industry.
During the Business Traveller Africa Awards held in Johannesburg, Avis South Africa was named "Best Car Rental Company" for the third consecutive year.
The Business Traveller Africa Awards are presented to winners in 20 categories, including hotels, airlines and car rentals. The objective is to reward excellence in South African business travel and to acknowledge those brands/entities that have performed consistently and with excellence over the past 12 months.
